COVERED BY THE BLOOD
Exodus 12:13
And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
That is what the Lord told the children of Israel. This blood that they used was the blood of a lamb. They were to draw out and take a lamb according to their families, and kill the Passover. This lamb was not to have any spots or blemishes. Their instructions were to, and I quote, “And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning.
Hyssop is a small, fragrant plant of the mint family. It is very bushy in texture and serves well as a brush. They were to use this brush like plant, dip it into the blood and paint it on each side (door posts) of the door and upon the lintel (the upper door post). This they had to do. They were to stay inside of the house and not come out until morning. Stay on the inside of that door.
The Lord sent a plague upon Egypt to kill the firstborn for the hardness of his heart and to show his greatness. This is an interesting verse in Exodus 11:7; ‘But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue against man or beast: that ye may know how that the Lord doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.’ Pharoah was a hard man. He was an oppressor of the people. They were only safe as long as they remained behind the door that was marked with the blood of that lamb.
But not only did they have to put the blood of that lamb on the door posts, but they also had to eat the Passover lamb that night in the houses wherein they shall eat it. Exodus 12:8-12; ‘And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance (all that is within) thereof. And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remained of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire. And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the Lord’s Passover. For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord. Verse 13 is my favorite. The Lord says ‘And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
The Lord protected the children of Israel with the blood of a lamb. They were protected from within and on the outside. He did not pronounce judgment upon them with the wicked Egyptians . How much more will he do for you who are covered by the blood of THE LAMB OF GOD which taketh away the sins of the world.
Today we have a new and better way. Jesus is our Passover lamb. The blood of a lamb worked for them then. Certainly, the blood of the only begotten Son of God will work for us who have accepted Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior; and have been baptized in the Name of Jesus for the forgiveness of our sins.
Those who have been washed in the blood of The Lamb of God. The blood of Jesus marks you as one of His very own. You are a child of Almighty God. When he sees you, He sees the blood of His dear Son and you are protected and loved by the Father just as if you were Jesus Himself.
When the Lord smites the land, will he pass over you? Are you covered by the Blood of the Lamb? Will the enemy not be able to destroy you because you are covered by the Blood? Will he be able to have a field day with you because you have left from under the blood covering? Remember the children of Israel had to stay within the house until the next morning. If you have stepped out from under the covering of the blood, you are open season to the onslaughts of the enemy. Repent and run back under the covering of the Blood of Jesus Christ. Get in a hurry. The longer you stay from under the covering of the blood of Jesus, the further away from Him you will go without knowing. Live a life of holiness unto the Lord. Holiness will keep you covered by the blood.
When the enemy sees the blood on the door posts of your heart, he knows that no weapons that are formed against you can prosper. He knows that you are victorious through Jesus whom he thought he crucified forever. The devil is afraid of the child of God that is continuously covered by the blood of Jesus Christ.
But you have to remain there. You have to eat the flesh of the lamb to be protected from within. The flesh of the lamb is the word of God. John 1:14 states that ‘(And) the Word was made flesh….. Jesus is the Lamb of God. The real you is Spirit. You are inside of a body (temple/house) not made by hands. You shall eat the pure, unadulterated Word of God. Keep your mind covered by the blood of the lamb and give no place to the devil. Submit yourself to God and resist the devil and he (the devil) shall flee. He will run in terror away from you who are covered by the Blood of the Lamb.
Are you covered by the Blood of the Lamb?

THE BLOOD SPEAKS
Genesis 4:10
And he said, What has thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.
Luke 11:51
From the blood of Abel unto the blood of Zacharias, which perished between altar and the temple: verily I say unto you, It shall be required of this generation.
Hebrews 12:24
And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
Here we see in Genesis that the Lord said that the blood had a voice. He said the Abel's blood crieth unto him from the ground. You would not think off hand that blood could talk. After all it does not have a vocal cord. But every thing that the Lord made is alive with his life which he breathed into man and beast. The life of the flesh is in the blood. Leviticus 17:11. Abel's blood cried out 'murderer', because his brother had spilled his blood on the ground and then buried him because of envy and jealousy.
Jesus also mentioned the blood of Zacharias who was stoned because of the word he spoke when the Spirit of God came upon him. (2 Chronicles 24:20-21) Both mentioned were unjustly slained.
But the blood of Jesus was shed by the will of God for the remission of sin and to reconcile us back to the Father. Hebrews 9:11 says
- But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;
Neither by the blood of goats and calves, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Christ shed his blood for something way more beneficial for us. He allowed his life to be taken in exchange for death so that we could gain eternal life. His blood speaks of abundant life through out all ages with our heavenly Father. Because of his blood, we have passed from death unto life. Whereas the blood of calves and goats were sprinkled on unclean flesh, his blood covers and cleanses us so that we become clean before the Father.
So we have forgiveness of our sins and when we accept that and receive Christ into our hearts we are reconciled back to God.
Our sins are forgiven and by his stripes we were healed. The Lord once told me that when he looked at me, he saw the blood of His Son and that he could not help but to love me.
Exodus 12:13 says; And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt. This tells me that the blood speaks of a covering for protection.
For the life of the flesh is in the blood and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul. Leviticus 17:11.
We plead or call upon the blood of Jesus whenever we are threatened by the enemy and the blood will prevail. The enemy is afraid and will flee when he sees the blood. He will run in terror with all of his imps and demons. The blood of Jesus speaks of victory. The blood always causes us to triumph in Christ Jesus.
Revelation 12:11 says And they overcame him (the devil) by the blood of the Lamb, and the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. They overcame him applying the blood to their situation. I am healed by the blood of the Lamb. You know those stripes on Jesus back bled something awful for us. That blood heals us, delivers us, cleanses us and sets us free from all bondages. Is not that good news? Glory! Hallelujah!!
His blood is continually at work for us. His blood is yet alive and just as power as it ever was. 1 John 1:7 states - But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. His blood will keep us spotless if we would confess our sins everyday since we know not when we have sinned. Sometimes we do things and do not realize that we have committed sin. That is why I pray for forgiveness and be sure that I have forgiven others also. God is sooooooooooooo good!!!!!!
